Planning a Trackless Train for a Fall Event in Lavonia
A practical guide to route approval, boarding space, guest turns and booking questions for a trackless train at your Lavonia celebration.
01
Start with the experience you want
A train ride can give a fall family gathering, school celebration or church event a shared activity beyond the usual games. Before choosing the ride time for a Lavonia event, decide how it fits into the day. Will guests arrive together or drop in throughout the afternoon? Write down your expected attendance and the main activities so you can discuss a realistic plan, rather than treating the train as an unlimited ride service.
02
Does the train need tracks?
The Bell Express is a gas-powered trackless train with an attendant included. It does not need railroad tracks, but it does need an approved operating area, suitable surface and adequate turning room. Ask Jumpingwithus to review the proposed route before promising rides around a particular part of the property. A space that looks open on a map is not automatically suitable for the train.
03
Prepare a simple venue sketch
As a planning aid, mark the entrance, proposed route, boarding area, guest parking and other attractions on a basic sketch. Tell the team about gates, narrow sections, slopes or other features that could affect access. Ask which photographs or measurements would help with approval. If someone else manages the property, get their permission and include them in the discussion. Let the rental team decide whether the proposed route works; do not guess at required clearances.
04
Give boarding and waiting their own space
Discuss where guests should wait and where riders will enter and leave the train. As an event-planning suggestion, position food tables, games and photo stops so they do not draw people into the proposed route. Ask the attendant how your volunteers can help guests follow instructions without taking over train operation. Share the agreed plan with the adults helping at the event, especially if families will arrive at different times.
05
Plan guest turns without promising a ride count
Tell the team the ages and approximate number of people hoping to ride. Actual capacity varies with rider ages and sizes, so ask about your group rather than advertising a guaranteed number per trip. A useful hosting idea is to offer another activity while guests wait. Keep announcements flexible: boarding, the approved route and operating conditions can affect how quickly groups move through the activity.
06
Check the participation-fee policy before advertising
The current trackless-train policy prohibits charging guests an additional fee for individual participation. Do not sell separate train-ride tickets or assume it can be used as a per-ride fundraiser. If your gathering has admission charges, donations or other fundraising arrangements, explain those details to Jumpingwithus before booking and ask how the policy applies. Resolve that question before printing flyers or sharing an event announcement.
07
Call with your date, address and event plan
Trackless-train reservations are handled by phone. Call 1-855-573-JUMP (5867) with the Lavonia event address, preferred date, requested hours, estimated attendance and proposed route. Ask for confirmation of availability, the complete quote and any venue-specific requirements. Review the current weather policy and discuss how changes would be communicated. Save the agreed details in one place so your venue contact and event helpers are working from the same plan.
